The Cheapo E-Cig

They are popping up everywhere, you see them in the convenience store, setting by cash registers at many retailers and advertised in newspapers, online and magazines for FREE just pay shipping and handling (real cost of this one is more than $170 for the first month).  They are very inexpensive and satisfy a curiosity, or do they? 

I have been using an e-cigarette and Personal Nicotine Vaporizer (PNV) for more than a year with great satisfaction.  I started with an expensive mall model and it just didn’t work well, a lot of draw with little vapor and expensive non-refillable cartridges.  I was lucky to quickly find a better quality e-cig that was much less expensive and the cartridges were refillable.  Had I not found a unit like this, I would have most likely given up on switching from tobacco.

I have run in to 100’s, yes 100’s of people who have tried the cheapos and threw them away. Now, those smokers have a bad taste in their mouths for the e-cigarette and most will never give them another try.  That is the sad part, as the e-cigarette is a reduced harm alternative that has great success rates in helping people to stop burning tobacco.  What is the real cost of the cheapos?  The bad reputation they are creating for what is an effective smoking alternative for committed adult smokers.  Be sure to let those you have met and I am sure it is quite a few; that the quality of a good e-cig is worth the price and their health is worth giving a quality e-cigarette a chance.
